nsign.tv, finalist in the 'Inavate Awards' for its facial recognition project in the Retail field

The company has been nominated in the "Best R&D" category in these prestigious awards that recognize the best projects in the AV industry.

Barcelona, January 7, 2022 - Barcelona-based digital signage technology start-up nsign.tv is pleased to announce that it has been nominated in the "Best R&D" category at the Inavation Awards, the awards organized by the renowned English magazine Inavate, which recognize the best projects, technologies and professionals in the AV industry worldwide.

The company was a finalist for its innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) project in the retail field based on the automatic attribution of content on screens based on the gender and age group of the audience, obtained thanks to facial recognition algorithms.

"We are especially happy that our strong commitment to R&D has been recognized, which is one of the hallmarks of nsign.tv," says Toni Viñals, CEO of the company. "This project allows stores to get to know their users better, adapt to their needs and transmit information to them in the most agile way possible. In short, it improves the shopping experience in the physical store, providing more value. We will continue to work to offer innovative solutions that contribute to the digital transformation of physical spaces, helping brands and retailers to connect and interact with their audiences."

The R&D project for which nsign.tv has been a finalist in the Inavation Awards has materialized in a facial recognition module that has been integrated into nsign.tv's digital signage platform. Thanks to facial recognition, which complies at all times with the data protection law, the platform can automatically activate and segmented a particular content based on gender and/or age range of who is watching that display at all times. In the same way, data is collected for statistical analysis in order to increase the efficiency of the system.

The solution, distributed by nsign.tv from 2021 in a hardware + software module, is ideal for retail and shopping malls, and is not only designed for large spaces and large budgets but can be implemented with relatively low costs so that establishments with just a camera and a display can already benefit from this technology.

The winners of the Inavation Awards will be announced on February 1 in Barcelona as part of ISE 2022 at a ceremony to be held at the National Art Museum of Catalonia. So far this year, nsign.tv has won the award for "Digital Signage Technology of the Year" at the AV Awards, and its technology has also been a finalist in the Digital Signage Awards, whose awards ceremony will be held on February 2 at the Esferic in Barcelona, also within the scope of ISE 2022.
